There are 24 DIMM sockets on the system board, and an additional 24 DIMM sockets on the processor and memory expansion tray (standard on most models).
DIMM slots are shared between standard system memory and persistent memory. DIMMs are available in three speeds: 2666 MHz, 2933 MHz and Performance+ 2933 MHz. Performance+ DIMMs support 2993 MHz with two DIMMs installed per channel (2DPC), whereas 2933 MHz DIMMs support 2933 MHz with only 1 DIMM per channel (1DPC). |
